‘All hell broke loose’: UFC boss casually drops Brady, Gronk bombshell on live TV

UFC boss Dana White just casually dropped a bomb that sent the NFL world into meltdown.

You know how Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski teamed up one final time to take the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to Super Bowl glory against the Kansas City Chiefs?

Well, according to White that very nearly did not happen — and Gronkowski himself seemed to confirm it to.

Speaking on UFC 278 with The Gronks, White claimed he was behind a deal that would have sent instead sent Brady and Gronkowski to the Las Vegas Raiders.

White went as far as to say it was “almost a done deal” until former Raiders coach Jon Gruden allegedly “blew the deal up”.

You can read the full exchange between Gronkowski and White below and the reaction from the stunned NFL world.

GRONKOWSKI: “I’ve also got another question for you. I know when Tom was a free agent about two to three years ago when he went to Tampa, you gave him a recruiting pitch on why he should join the Las Vegas Raiders. What went wrong with that recruiting pitch you gave him?”

WHITE: “Do I really tell this story right now Gronk? Do you want me to tell this story?”

GRONKOWSKI: “You can give a brief story. Don’t go too much into detail because you never know, I could have been in Vegas with you for the last three years.”

WHITE: “You would have been. I worked to put that deal together for Brady and Gronk to come to the Raiders and it was almost a done deal and at the last minute, Gruden blew the deal up and said he didn’t want them and all hell broke loose. It was crazy. Brady was already looking at houses. It wasn’t being said yet that Gronk was coming, so Las Vegas would’ve had Brady and Gronk the year the Bucs won the Super Bowl but Gruden blew the deal up. There is so much of a story that goes along with this behind the scenes. I was never going to tell that story until Gronk just said it.”

GRONKOWSKI: “And Dana, that is exactly what happened and you just told the story. It worked out for the best and I’m glad it did not go through.”
