Australia, meanwhile, does not have complete control of its destiny having lost heavily to the Black Caps in the opening match.

It means that Australia most likely needs to win its final match against Afghanistan to go through to the next stage.

– it beats Afghanistan

– England beats New Zealand and Sri Lanka

– New Zealand also lose to Ireland

Scenario 4

Australia goes through if…

– it loses to Afghanistan

– England loses to New Zealand and Sri Lanka

– Ireland loses to New Zealand and has worse NRR
